Würfel Gesche
Gesche Würfel (b. 1976, Bremerhaven, Germany) has participated in exhibitions at Tate Modern, London (UK); Künstlerhaus Bethanien, Berlin (DE); David Zwirner, New York, NY (US); Contemporary Art Museum (CAM) Raleigh, NC (US); Nasher Museum of Art at Duke University, Durham, NC (US); Goldsmiths Center for Contemporary Art, London (UK); International Center of Photography, New York (US); Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), MA (US); Singapore International Photography Festival (SG), among others. She was an Artist-in-Residence at Künstlerhaus Bethanien, Berlin (DE); Studios at MASS MOCA, North Adams, MA (US). Würfel is the author of The Absence and Presence of the Berlin Wall (DISTANZ 2025) and Basement Sanctuaries. Her work is in the permanent collections of the MIT Museum, Cambridge, MA (US), the Portland Museum of Art, Portland, OR (US), and the Pensacola Museum, Pensacola, FL (US). The artist currently lives and works in New York, NY (US). She is represented by Tracey Morgan Gallery.
