José Moreno Villa

 José Moreno Villa (1887-1955) was a Spanish painter, poet, and mentor in the Residencia de Estudiantes to the generation of García Lorca, Luis Buñuel, and Salvador Dalí.  He was also an essayist, literary critic, archivist, and memoirist. During the Spanish Civil War he worked briefly as a Republican cultural attaché in Washington and went into exile in Mexico.
