Laure Murat

Historian and writer Laure Murat is distinguished professor of French and Francophone studies in the Department of European Languages and Transcultural Studies at the University of California, Los Angeles. Murat is the author of several books in French, and the author of The Man Who Thought He Was Napoleon: Toward a Political History of Madness, published in English by the University of Chicago Press. The French edition of her book, Proust, a Family Affair, received the Prix Médicis l’essai in 2023.
