Heritage of Sociology Series
The Heritage of Sociology Series, now closed, was founded in the 1960s by Morris Janowitz and later taken over by Donald N. Levine. The series featured collected works by prominent sociologists on topics of central importance to the discipline, including George Herbert Mead on social psychology, Georg Simmel on individuality and social forms, Maurice Halbwachs on collective memory, and W. E. B. DuBois on sociology and the black community, as well as many of the foundational thinkers of the Chicago School of Sociology.
