A discourse on the present and future of human rights in Africa. 

Realizing Human Rights in the Second Centenary of Africa’s Political Independence is an important contribution to African human rights law at the cusp of the second quarter of the twenty-first century, set within the dual context of a demographic boom for the region projected to exceed the populations of China and India combined and a wave of new technologies that most recently includes AI. The book is filled with recommendations for best practices for all parties, notably including the African diaspora recognized by the African Union as an extraterritorial sixth region. Drawing from multiple sources, including African regional and global human rights documents and publications and the authors’ own works, the book covers all categories of human rights, except for freedom from environmental degradation, for space reasons, left out as topic for a future study.
